| I ventured out to the stores again today. I knew I couldn't keep away. With the Kipster coming down for Christmas Eve and Day, I had to go out and buy him his traditional Christmas present--socks and underwear. Plus I thought of something else for Bill. Going to Kohl's wasn't that bad of an experience given the time of the year that it is. I didn't get too overwhelmed with Christmas kitsch. Kohl's is mainly a clothing store but also has housewares and Christmas decorations. Kohl's is a favorite store of mine. So, in today's foraging, I found what I wanted for Bill but nothing else. They didn't even have any bird or bear ornaments. Wahhh.
Was going to go across the street to Meijer (a place like Wal-Mart but better) but when I saw that the parking lot was nearly full, I said, "Huh uh" and headed home. Stopped at Kroger for half an hour to get something for dinner and some eggs, which we had been out of for several days. Yum, we can have eggs for breakfast tomorrow again. It's a good thing I didn't go in Meijer because when I got home I had to get the pork chops cooking because Bill had to go to some computer club meeting at the library at 7:00. Seems some bunch of guys who like to dabble with their computers asked him to come talk with them on the subject of computers. They picked his brain for awhile. When he came home, he said, "Well, that's over with." Upon asking him further, he said he didn't expect he'd have to go back unless they asked him to speak again. I had thought that he was going to be a monthly part of this group but I guess he doesn't want to be.
If you look closely at the reflection in the window, you'll see my hubby playing with his hair. He's been saying that it's too long for a few weeks now hoping I'll take pity on him and whip out the barber shears. It's a game we play, you see. I try to avoid cutting his hair because I'm not too good at the sides and am always terrified that I'll do a "whoops." I have before. He keeps trying to save money by having me do his hair. What we have here, and Bill's favorite phrase lately, is a Mexican standoff. I'll finally give in when I get tired of seeing him play with his hair. |
