| I've spent an enjoyable day looking at e-mail. There were a lot in my inbox since I didn't look at e-mail at all yesterday. It's been another sunny bright day. It's peculiar how the snow is still on the ground in patches, mainly where the ground is shaded by trees, houses, or fences even though it's been warm enough to melt the snow off. I hung sheets out yesterday. It looked strange to see stuff hanging on the clothesline with snow on the ground under it.
I have discovered the luxury of flannel sheets. It only took me 54 +11/12 years. Who wouldn't love flannel sheets when you've got a bedroom as cold as ours? And what a cute pattern it was, too. Green plaid, snowflakes, and a snowman design all across the pillows and top of the top sheet. It would have been bears but the bear pattern only came in queen size. The decorating of the tree has commenced accompanied by a five CD choir. I've decided to put all big bulbs on the tree this year. A throwback to Christmas trees of my youth. I discovered that I needed more of them kind of bulbs so a trip to Kroger's (and why we always refer to it as Kroger's I don't know; it's actually just Kroger) took prominence to replenish the big bulb supply, and to try to think of something real quick to get for dinner. I'm also thinking of putting strings of white tiny lights in there, too. Now that would be different for me. Every year I scan the ornament shelves in the stores looking for a new bear or bird ornament to add to the menagerie. I've managed to find two new bears and one bird. The bird is a puffy round cardinal with a curlicue on its head reminencent of a quail. My daughter called me today to tell me that she found out she can get an $800 scholarship per quarter when she transfers to OSU after she graduates next quarter from Columbus State Community College. It's because she has a 4.0 average. Plus, she's getting a grant that doesn't have to be paid back. After our footing some of the bill for her tuition and books, and she having to take out a student loan, the next two years will be paid for. Is that cool or what? Yes, I must brag a bit here. She has earned that royally. Whatever came up she wouldn't let anything stop her from maintaining that average. She set her standards high. Way to go, Amy! |
