From years of practice, I have found whenever trouble comes around, |

It comes down to communication. This has been my observation. |
He claims she is too demanding. She says he lacks understanding. |
Neither one knows how to listen, so there's lots of truth they're missing. |
Every day they lay a brick, till the wall between gets thick. |
Then at last it's too much work. She is "whiny". He's a "jerk." |
No remedial elixir can reform him, or can fix her. |
|
How could all this be prevented? How can couples be contented? |
As you know, I'm Doctor Mervyn. What I'd do, if I were Merlin, |
I would wave my magic wand, strengthening each loving bond. |
|
But they have powers they scarcely know; the power to change: the power to grow. |
Except a gargoyle, tomb or throne, nothing's ever carved in stone. |
Change can happen instantly if they think it needs to be. |
I recommend a book by Bears. Happiness replaces cares. |
|
All the symptoms and description come down to this one prescription: |
"If your life is in a mess, you need a dose of happiness." |
