MAGIC COOKIE BARS
(Scrumptious!)

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
3 1/2 oz. can flaked coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 13x9x2 inch pan melt butter or margarine. Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. Pour sweetened condensed milk over crumbs. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts; press down gently. Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly bowned. Cool thoroughly before cutting into bars.

FROSTED CHEWIES
(Easy and even more scrumptious!)

1 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. Kellogg's Special K cereal
1 6-oz. pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 6 oz. pkg. butterscotch morsels

Place sugar and corn syrup in medium-size saucepan; stir to combine. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter; mix well. Add Special K cereal; stir until evenly coated. Press mixture evenly and firmly in buttered 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Cool.

Melt chocolate and butterscotch morsels together in top section of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water or in a small saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; spread evenly over Special K cereal mixture. Let stand in cool place until firm. Cut into bars to serve.

SUGAR COOKIES
(Makes a puffier sugar cookie)

1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter; add sugar and continue creaming. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Add flour and baking powder along with the milk. Chill dough.

Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness, or thicker, on a lightly floured board or wax paper. Cut with cookie cutters. Sprinkle with sugar or a cinnamon-sugar mixture, or with decorative sprinkles, or leave plain to decorate with frosting and sprinkles after baking. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until done.

BUTTERSCOTCH COOKIES

1/2 c. margarine
1/3 c. white sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. chopped walnuts, optional

Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan; add sugar and mix well. Add egg; beat till light colored. Sift flour with soda; stir into egg mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Chill. Roll in small balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 7-10 min. Remove at once. Makes 3 dozen.

JUDY'S NUT BALL COOKIES
(I don't know who Judy is but this is a fine cookie)

3/4 cup ground pecans
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cup cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
extra powdered sugar

Stir together pecans, butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and vanilla, mix well. Sift flour and salt, stir into nut mixture. Chill. Roll into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball 3 times in the extra powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F until set but not brown.

SPRITZ COOKIES

Cream 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. margarine, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tsp. lemon extract (or vanilla or almond). Add 2 1/4 c. flour and 1/2 tsp. baking powder.

Fill cookie press and place cookies 1" apart on a ungreased sheet. Sprinkle with decorative sprinkles. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 min. or until done.

For Christmas tree ones, add 4 or 5 drops of green food coloring to the dough and mix well. Fill cookies press and proceed with sprinkles and baking.
