| Nothing happening today to speak of. Well, there is always something to speak of but nothing interesting to speak of. Don't get too bored on me, okay? Something interesting is bound to step up here any time now. I think I'm going to The Muckheads on Thursday. All three of them were sick with the flu this past weekend. Amy had to ask for an extension on her final exam which she gratefully got. She was down with a bladder infection and the flu. I've got to go up there to get Kip's coat back to him. The one he left in my closet Thanksgiving weekend. The one that I asked him if he had a coat in the closet. The one he said that he didn't. Oh, well, it's time for a trip north for me. I haven't done it for a couple of months now.
We're supposed to get some freezing rain later tonight and into Wednesday morning. When one is doing the decorating of a tree on one's own, it tends not to get done in one day. I got the bulbs I needed yesterday and spent this afternoon putting them on the tree. No matter how many strands of lights I put on a tree I always don't have enough at the top. Yep, did it again and I put strand after strand of the big suckers on. Sigh. It's tradition. Ohmigod, I'm down to talking about What's For Dinner. I am about ready to tell you that we had homemade fajitas tonight. Man, am I really running out of things to talk about? Well, yeh, especially when I don't go do anything interesting. Hey, my birthday is tomorrow. Maybe that will give me some story fodder. That freezing rain better be over by dinnertime because I have requested to be taken out to a tropical restaurant called Bahama Breeze. Where else would an Ohio December baby who would rather be in Florida go for her birthday? Our street is still looking pretty dark when it comes to Christmas decorations. There are four other houses on the street within eyesight that have gotten their lights out. Right across the street from us is a huge blow-up reindeer. That's the newest fad. Kroger had some for sale, one of them being a brown bear holding a Christmas tree or candy cane. Almost, just almost did I snatch it up but I hesitated. On one hand, I'm glad I resisted the temptation because of the price--$40; on the other hand, I'm sad I didn't snatch it up because of Bill's reaction when I told him about them. Of course, he wanted one. But I'm still glad I didn't get it. It involves running a blower the whole time you want the thing to be upright. The first night it went down Bill thought for sure that some vandal had got to it. But upon further inspection of one of the things at the nearest Lowe's store I discovered the bit about the blower. So, we're both glad that I didn't succumb to it. Well, the poor tree is out in the living room all alone twinkling its guts out. I suppose I could go out there and decorate some more. Nah, don't feel like it. Amy called and told me that they were going out to get their tree now. They also got a birthday card in the mail for me but it probably won't get here tomorrow. She wanted me to know they were thinking of me and were going to be thinking of me as they decorated their tree. Kip has volunteered to be me this year. By that I mean that he will be the one who sits back and supervises to the point of ad nauseum like I used to do. Wah, the traditions continue... |
