Medieval Revisited
February 27, 2003

Have you ever seen hoarfrost? We had that phenomenom a couple of days ago. This picture really doesn't give it justice. It seems to occur when there is heavy fog along with freezing temperatures. Usually it happens overnight. We woke up to every tree and bush coated with a fine spiky frost. We've got another winter weather advisory up for tonight. An advisory means freezing rain and/or 1 - 3 inches of snow. A winter weather warning means 3 - XX inches of snow is coming.Hoarfrost - picture taken outside my window

"Hoarfrost. A deposit of interlocking ice crystals (hoar crystals) formed by direct sublimation on objects, usually those of small diameter freely exposed to the air, such as tree branches, plant stems and leaf edges, wires, poles, etc., which surface is sufficiently cooled, mostly by nocturnal radiation, to cause the direct sublimation of the water vapor contained in the ambient air." A couple of hams

We finally got around to taking pictures of ourselves in our medieval costumes, the ones we wore at Grant's wedding back in October. I had them hung on the coat closet door to remind me to get the pictures taken and they were in the way. Actually, I think he had fun while we were posing for the pictures, whether he wants to admit it or not. The costumes bring out the ham in him. Having a bear in the picture is guaranteed to make it more fun for him.

Bill and his bear

Bill came across an interesting website today and sent me the link. Vote to Impeach Bush. The articles of impeachment were drafted by Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark. I don't know about you but these are very scary times in our country. I signed this without hesitation. I'm not going to go any further on this political bandstand besides this. This says it all for me. 'Nuff said.
