NOT SO HAPPY? HALLOWEEN
Happy Halloween, isn't it a scream?
What's so happy about a bat?
Aren't ghosts scary? And black cats wary?
I never saw a smile on a cat.
Blood dripping down always brings a frown,
Not mirth or laughter or a smile,
People usually faint, don't think it's quaint,
When human liquid flows for quite awhile.
Being poked with knives jeopardizes lives
And people in a coffin, is that fun?
Death as a friend, laughter to the end,
Always makes ME joke and make a pun.
Goblins in the sky, mummies on the sly,
Aren't these supposed to make you fearful?
Eerie sounds abound, ghosts flying 'round,
All of this is meant to make us cheerful? |
Witches on their broom, hovering in the gloom,
Shake their heads in dim exasperation,
"Sisters, there's no doubt, something is left out,
It's scary time and not a celebration."
"Tall tales of fright, dark and scary night,
Not meant to make one quake with laughter,
A scary Halloween, is meant to make you scream,
And give a taste of life in the hereafter."
Happy Halloween, see what I mean?
A major oxymoron meaning fun,
Coming from dark ages, where every evil rages,
Happy Halloween needs redone.
