Little one, who is one year today
With smiles so big as she sets out to play.
Watching you grow has been such a pleasure
All of these days are days that I treasure.

Momma's milk nourished you all through the year
Plus food of all sorts that you now eat and smear.
You wake up each day and grin with delight
Trying out new things till bedtime at night.

Babies are work, yet babies are play
Parents feel blessed that you've come their way.
To grandparents, too, you add a dimension
Of love and fun and lots of attention.

From swaddling to sitting, from sitting to crawl,
From standing to squatting, you've done them all.
All in one year, what challenge you've met.
With lots more to come, we aint' seen nothin' yet!
